Ron obviously had the sense to go to bed as it must have been the wee small hours when Russell was on the phone from L. A. earlier....
Little Richard, Sam Sauvage and that great song from The Umbrellas of Cherboug.......his taste is nearly as good as my own....😂

Nice interview with Russell and it was great to hear Mark Radcliffe mention that Sparks will be appearing on "Later With Jools Holland" on June 15th. 10 years after they last appeared on that show as FFS.

Nice to hear Russell sounding so bouncy.

My father loved the movie The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, so I teared up a little hearing that final song after the interview.

Bouncy is exactly the word l was gonna use to describe Russell on the show Waterloosunset. He was sounding very energetic & it was good to hear from him directly that all was safe & well at home after the LA fires.
The show itself started off with 'number 1 song in heaven' & come the final half hour he began by playing 'do this my own way'. It's probably the only time it's had any radio play but it did come across as a very radio friendly track. The rest of the show was too erratic for my ears to appreciate but it was good to hear so many listener's positive messages for Sparks being read out too.
